Regular Season Round 10: Goettingen - MBC 66-89

There was no surprise when 10th ranked BG Goettingen (4-6) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (7-2) 89-66 on Saturday. Mitteldeutscher BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated also this game. Guard Frantz Massenat (193, college: Drexel) fired 26 points and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Four Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. Power forward Raymar Morgan (202-88, college: Michigan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and guard Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 4 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mitteldeutscher BC moved-up to third place, which they share with EWE Baskets. Loser BG Goettingen keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#13) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Goettingen will play on the road against Walter Tigers in Tuebingen and hope to win that game.
