Regular Season Round 5: Mladost - Kakanj 75-78

A very close game took place in Mrkonjic Grad between Kakanj and Mladost. Fourth ranked Kakanj (4-2) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Mladost (1-4). Kakanj managed to escape with a 3-point win 78-75 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Strangely Mladost outrebounded Kakanj 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Croatian swingman Zeljko Palavra (195-82) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Dinko Peljto (187-87) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin forward Nemanja Knezevic (203-87) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Serbian Bojan Djurica (198-83) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Mladost players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kakanj moved-up to third place, which they share with Gradanski. Mladost lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost.
