Regular Season Round 9: Karlsruhe - Iserlohn 65-74

There was no surprise when 6th ranked BG Karlsruhe (5-4) was defeated at home by first ranked Iserlohn (8-1) 74-65 on Saturday. British forward Orlan Jackman (201-88, college: Oklahoma City) stepped up and scored 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Jonas Grof (198-96, college: High School) chipped in 13 points. Iserlohn's coach Dragan Torbica used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was naturalized American guard Kenny Fluellen (190-90, college: Paine) with 19 points and American guard Jimmy Dorsey (188-89) scored 18 points and 4 steals. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Iserlohn. Newly promoted Iserlohn maintains first place in Group South with 8-1 record. Loser BG Karlsruhe dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Iserlohn will face White Wings (#9) in Hanau in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Karlsruhe will play on the road against Licher Basket (#10) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
