Date: November 22, 2014
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Magdeburg and 8th ranked RSV Eintracht had identical 4-5 record. This time Magdeburg used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Stahnsdorf 80-67 on Saturday night. Magdeburg shot 60.4 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Magdeburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 68.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized American Chris Frazier (182-90, college: Dubuque) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Steven Monse (200-90) chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Kellen Williams (194-84, college: E.Washington, agency: Dynamics Global Management) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Travis Smith (190-91, college: Mercer) scored 15 points. RSV Eintracht's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Magdeburg (5-5) moved-up to sixth place in Group North, which they share with Recklinghausen and Bochum. Loser RSV Eintracht dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Magdeburg will face Titans (#12) in Dresden in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. RSV Eintracht will play on the road against AstroStars in Bochum and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
