Everything went according to plan in Akdeniz where tenth ranked Gelisim (4-4) beat bottom-ranked Mersin (1-7) 64-51. The game without a history. Gelisim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Center Fatih Kizilca (201-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. Guard Ihsan Yalcin Azizmahmutogullari (188-82) replied with 9 points and 12 rebounds and forward Hakan Uskuplu (200-83) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mersin. Mersin's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gelisim moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Adanaspor and Yesilgiresun. Mersin lost fifth consecutive game.
