Liga Nationala top team - CSM Targoviste (11-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Timisoara (7-6) 80-39. The game was mostly controlled by CSM Targoviste. Timisoara was better in fourth quarter 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Timisoara to just 6 points in first quarter. CSM Targoviste dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Timisoara's 26. CSM Targoviste forced 25 Timisoara turnovers and outrebounded them 40-22 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American-FYR Macedonian Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) nailed 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American center Jasmine Watson (190-91, college: Massachusetts) accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian guard Natasa Krnjetina (180-88) came up with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian center Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Timisoara in the defeat. Timisoara's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-2 record, which they share with Sf.Gheorghe and Alba Iulia. Timisoara at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. CSM Targoviste will play against ICIM Arad (#4) on the road in the next round. Timisoara will play against the league's second-placed Sf.Gheorghe (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
