There was no surprise in Ruse where 6th ranked Rilski Sportist (1-4) was defeated by third ranked Dunav 8806 (3-2) 62-49. The game without a history. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Kristina Santiago (185-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Veronika Djikova (180-90) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American center Alison Bouman (193, college: Davenport) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rilski Sportist. Dunav 8806 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Neftochimic. Rilski Sportist lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with four games lost. They share it with Levski. Dunav 8806 will play against league's leader Haskovo 2012 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rilski Sportist will play against the league's second-placed Neftochimic (#2) in Burgas to get more than just one victory in their record.
