The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Sakarya BSB as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sakarya BSB defeated 14th ranked ITU Istanbul in Sakaraya 83-67. Sakarya BSB dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to ITU Istanbul's 20. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Sakarya BSB players scored in double figures. American forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Onur Sonsirma (190-85, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sakarya BSB have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Balikesir and Buyukcekmece. ITU Istanbul at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Istanbul DSI and Mamak DSI. ITU Istanbul will play next round against strong Buyukcekmece trying to get back on the winning streak. Sakarya BSB will try to continue on its current victory against eighteenth ranked Mersin in Akdeniz.
