There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Vasco (2-3) beat higher ranked Esgueira / Oli (2-3) in Porto 88-83. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Esgueira / Oli won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vasco made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Esgueira / Oli turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Joao Guimaraes (193-95) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Joao Veludo (177-92) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Forward Antonio Gaioso (188-87) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Pedro Valente (175-85) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Four Vasco and five Esgueira / Oli players scored in double figures. Vasco moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Esgueira. Vasco's next round opponent will be higher ranked Electrico FC (#3) in Ponte de Sor and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
