Regular Season Round 9: Wolfenbuettel - Braunschweig 68-62

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and 8th ranked Braunschweig had identical 5-3 record. This time Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Braunschweig 68-62 on Sunday night. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 39-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Braunschweig turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 21 on the offensive glass. American center Brittany Obi-Tabot (185, college: Fairfield) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Sade Jackson (177, college: Adelphi) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Braunschweig. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel maintains third place in North with 6-3 record having just two points less than leader Osnabruck, which they share with BG 74 Veilchen and Neuss. Braunschweig lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will face league's leader Osnabruck on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Braunschweig will play against Lichterfelde (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
