Regular Season Round 8: SISU - Amager 57-84
Date: November 23, 2014
One of their biggest challengers SISU (2-4) was outscored at home by fifth ranked Amager (3-5) with the biggest margin this round 84-57. The game was mostly controlled by Amager. SISU was better in fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Amager had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) who scored that evening 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American forward Lauren Gregory (185-87, college: Vanguard) supported her with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Amager's coach Todd Anthony felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman Victoria Lehr (175-92) did not help to save the game for SISU. Kiki Lund (177-83, college: Dayton) added 18 points and 4 steals for the hosts. Amager moved-up to fourth place. SISU lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Amager will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SISU will play on the road against Horsholm (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
