Very predictable result in Jonava where fourth ranked Petrochema (11-6) defeated 13th ranked Vilniaus (4-11) 76-69 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. Petrochema forced 20 Vilniaus turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Vilniaus' players. Forward Karolis Sarukas (198-95) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Aurimas Urbonas (197-93) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ignas Dauksys (197-93) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Petrochema have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Trakai. Vilniaus lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Petrochema will face Nafta-Uni. (#5) in Klaipeda in the next round.
