Undefeated leader Khimik delivered the eleventh consecutive win on Friday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked DniproAzot (2-9) 79-56 in Dniprodzerzhynsk. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to DniproAzot's 30 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded DniproAzot 44-22 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Khimik looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Igor Zaytsev (210-89) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Olexandr Belikov (200-92) chipped in 16 points. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Ferguson (206-89, college: Mid-Continent) who recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Ernesto Tkachuk (189-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimik (11-0) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 11 victories in a row. DniproAzot at the other side keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. Khimik are looking forward to face Dnipro (#5) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round. DniproAzot will have a break next round.
