Date: November 29, 2014
The game between Top Four teams took place in Heidelberg. One of their biggest challengers host BasCats Heidelberg (7-3) lost to second ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (9-1) 56-49. BasCats Heidelberg was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 19-8 charge of Don Bosco Bamberg, which allowed them to win the game. Estonian guard Liisi Sokman (166-88) scored 16 points to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Lyndi Thorman (190-90, college: UTSA) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 22 rebounds and 6 blocks and her fellow American import point guard Serena Benavente (167-85, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Don Bosco Bamberg maintains second position in South with 9-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Osnabruck. Loser BasCats Heidelberg keeps the third place with three games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will face Rhein MB II (#8) in Langen in the next round where they are favorite. BasCats Heidelberg will play on the road against the league's leader Gruner Stern Keltern (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
