Regular Season Round 13: Ferro-ZNTU - Halychyna 73-70

Eleventh-ranked Halychyna (1-10) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Ferro-ZNTU (5-6) in Zaporozhye on Saturday. Ferro-ZNTU managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Halychyna trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 33-17 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 70-73 at the end of the game. Forward Dmitro Antonets (198-88) nailed 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and forward Maks Adam Konate (200-91) accounted for 13 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Center Oleksandr Berhin (205-85) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Nikola Polyulyak (192-90) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Halychyna in the defeat. Four Ferro-ZNTU and five Halychyna players scored in double figures. Halychyna's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to sixth place, which they share with BC Kyiv. Halychyna lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Ferro-ZNTU will meet at home higher ranked Cherkasy (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halychyna will play against BC Odessa (#8) and hope to win that game.
