Regular Season Round 11: Walter Tigers - Goettingen 72-83

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked BG Goettingen (5-6) beat 17th ranked Walter Tigers (2-9) in Tuebingen 83-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BG Goettingen. Walter Tigers was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BG Goettingen forced 21 Walter Tigers turnovers. American point guard Khalid El-Amin (178-79, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import power forward Raymar Morgan (202-88, college: Michigan St.) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. American guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian guard Branislav Ratkovica (192-85, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points and 11 assists in the effort for Walter Tigers. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BG Goettingen moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Bayreuth. Loser Walter Tigers keep the seventeenth position with nine games lost. BG Goettingen will have a break next round. Walter Tigers will play on the road against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#11) and hope to win that game.
