The game in Mersin was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Botas (3-3) played at the court of seventh ranked Mersin (3-3). Mersin managed to secure a 5-point victory 76-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Botas. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Botas won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Botas 39-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Mersin players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP, agency: Merit Management Group) who led her team to a victory with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American-Armenian swingman Quianna Chaney (180-86, college: LSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Botas. Botas' coach Ceyhun Yildizoglu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mersin moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Botas. Mersin's next round opponent will be Hatay (#12) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Botas will play against Edirne (#9) and hope to win that game.
