Regular Season Round 9: Sakarya BSB - Mersin 62-72

Top ranked Sakarya BSB (7-2) recorded its second loss in Sakaraya on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by eighteenth ranked Mersin (2-7) 72-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sakarya BSB. The game was mostly controlled by Mersin. Sakarya BSB managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Henry Antwan Dobie (183-78, college: LIU Brooklyn) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Ihsan Yalcin Azizmahmutogullari (188-82) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Sakarya BSB's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Mersin moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Sakarya BSB dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Balikesir. Mersin is looking forward to face ITU Istanbul (#17) at home in the next round. Sakarya BSB will play against Meliksah (#13) in Kayseri and is hoping to win this game.
