Regular Season Round 18: Rasai - Silute 79-77

A very interesting game took place in . It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Silute (7-11) to eighth ranked Rasai (9-9) 79-77 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-18. But Silute won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rasai won last quarter 20-19. Forward Valdemaras Savostjanovas (200-84) notched 25 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Giedrius Kurtinaitis (195-86) supported him with 16 points. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Marcus Jackson (196-81, college: Benedictine, KS) did not help to save the game for Silute. Swingman Deividas Pukis (196-92, college: High School) added 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Rasai maintains eighth position with 9-9 record. Silute at the other side keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Rasai's next round opponent will be higher ranked Petrochema (#3) in Jonava and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Silute will play on the road against the league's leader Ezerunas-Karys (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
