Rather predictable result when leader ALBA Berlin (9-0) won against 4th placed EWE Baskets (7-2) in Oldenburg 93-86 on Sunday. EWE Baskets were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded EWE Baskets 35-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for ALBA Berlin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. EWE Baskets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Croatian power forward Leon Radosevic (208-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Alex Renfroe (190-86, college: Belmont, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 18 points for the winners. point guard Maurice Stuckey (187-90) answered with 18 points and American swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) added 13 points in the effort for EWE Baskets. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ALBA Berlin have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Loser EWE Baskets keep the fourth position with two games lost. ALBA Berlin will face Artland Dragons (#3) in Quakenbrueck in the next round, which may be the game of the day. EWE Baskets will play at home against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven and hope to win that game.
