A very interesting game took place in Langen. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Rhein MB II (3-6) to sixth ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (6-4) 74-71 on Sunday evening. Rhein MB II was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 42-38 second half run of ASC Theresianum Mainz. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech guard Karolina Jandova (181-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Cornelia Berkhoff (176-84) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Alexandra Chili (183, college: Muhlenberg) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Mara Greunke (186-91) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Rhein MB II. Four Rhein MB II players scored in double figures. ASC Theresianum Mainz moved-up to fifth place in South. Rhein MB II at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. ASC Theresianum Mainz's next round opponent will be Weiterstadt (#7) at home. Rhein MB II will play against the league's second-placed Don Bosco Bamberg and hope to win that game.
