Regular Season Round 13: Dnipro - Khimik 49-63

Superleague top team - Khimik (12-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Dnipro (6-5) in Dnepropetrovsk 63-49. Dnipro was ahead by 11 points at the halftime before a 39-14 second half run of Khimik. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dnipro to just 3 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists. At the losing side international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Khimik. They maintain first place with 12-0 record. Dnipro at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Khimik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dnipro will play on the road against BC Kyiv (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
