Regular Season Round 13: Budivelnyk - BC Kyiv 80-76

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kyiv: Budivelnyk (#2) and BC Kyiv (#6). Budivelnyk (10-2) won against visiting BC Kyiv (5-6) 80-76. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BC Kyiv. BC Kyiv was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Budivelnyk looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (216-84) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 21 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and swingman Pavlo Krutous (195-92) added 21 points in the effort for BC Kyiv. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Budivelnyk have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader Khimik. BC Kyiv at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Ferro-ZNTU. Budivelnyk are looking forward to face DniproAzot (#10) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Kyiv will play at home against Dnipro (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
