Regular Season Round 16: Neptunas - Juventus 84-73

An interesting game for Neptunas (12-2) which hosted in Klaipeda 4th ranked Juventus (10-4). Third ranked Neptunas managed to get a 11-point victory 84-73. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Juventus. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Juventus was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Juventus 37-21 including 28 on the defensive glass. Juventus was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Mustafa Shakur (190-84, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (202-83, college: ODU) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (180-84, college: BYU) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Neptunas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lietuvos rytas. Juventus at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Neptunas will play against P.Zvaigzdes (#7) in Pasvalys in the next round where they are favorite. Juventus will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris and hopes to get back on the winning track.
