Regular Season Round 19: Palanga - Delikatesas 70-72

A very close game took place in Palanga between Delikatesas and Palanga. Seventh ranked Delikatesas (11-8) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Palanga (8-11). Delikatesas managed to escape with a 2-point win 72-70 on Friday evening. Palanga was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Delikatesas forced 25 Palanga turnovers. Strangely Palanga outrebounded Delikatesas 38-23 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Sarunas Kulevicius (194-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Mantas Pukinskas (198-89) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Center Adomas Drungilas (204-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Erikas Kubilius (192-95) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Palanga in the defeat. Five Delikatesas and four Palanga players scored in double figures. Delikatesas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Suduva-Mantinga. Palanga at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II and Zanavykas. Delikatesas will meet at home league's leader Ezerunas-Karys in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palanga will play against Zanavykas (#10) in Sakiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
