Regular Season Round 19: Ezerunas-Karys - Silute 88-78

NKL top team - Ezerunas-Karys (15-4) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat tenth ranked Silute (7-12) in Moletai 88-78. The game was mostly controlled by Ezerunas-Karys. Silute managed to win second period 29-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ezerunas-Karys won last quarter 24-16. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 24. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds. Deividas Kumelis (190-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists for the winners. Four Ezerunas-Karys players scored in double figures. Center Nerijus Anglickis (214-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Dominikas Matutis (180-91) added 22 points and 5 assists in the effort for Silute. Ezerunas-Karys have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-4 record, which they share with Perlas-MRU. Silute lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Ezerunas-Karys is looking forward to face Delikatesas (#6) in Joniskis in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Silute will play at home against Trakai (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
