Rather predictable result when third ranked Giessen 46ers (9-4) outscored at home 7th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (7-6) 74-53 on Saturday. Giessen 46ers made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 MLP Academics Heidelberg turnovers. Cuban swingman Yorman Polas (192-85) stepped up and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and forward Benjamin Lischka (204-89, agency: LUMANI 10.7) chipped in 16 points. Four Giessen 46ers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American John Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania) responded with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Bradley Tinsley (191-89, college: Vanderbilt) scored 12 points. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Giessen 46ers have a solid series of three victories in a row.
