Very expected game in Alytus where 10th ranked Nevezis (2-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Dzukija (8-8) 83-78 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Nevezis was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was Russian Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, agency: Alti Sport) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Martynas Paliukenas (195-93) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Markus Monroe (188-89, college: Wayland Baptist) produced 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import guard Rod Camphor (190-92, college: SW Oklahoma St.) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dzukija moved-up to fifth place. Nevezis lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Dzukija will meet at home league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play against Neptunas (#3) and hope to secure a win.
