Regular Season Round 11: Rist Wedel - Seawolves 75-88

An interesting game for Seawolves (9-3) which played road game in Wedel against second-ranked SC Rist Wedel (7-5). First ranked Seawolves managed to get a 13-point victory 88-75. SC Rist Wedel was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for DR Congolese-Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Bulgarian forward Ivo Slavchev (198-90) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Denzell Erves (202-91, college: Xavier, LA) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Seawolves maintains first place in Group North with 9-3 record. SC Rist Wedel lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second position with five games lost. They share it with Itzehoe and Braunschweig. Seawolves will play against AstroStars (#6) in Bochum in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SC Rist Wedel will play on the road against Titans (#13) in Dresden and hopes to get back on the winning track.
