Regular Season Round 12: Jaunieji Talentai - Utena 39-83

LMKL top team - Utena (12-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Jaunieji Talentai (3-9) in Vilnius 83-39. The game without a history. Utena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Jaunieji Talentai to just 7 points in first quarter. Utena held Jaunieji Talentai to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Utena forced 23 Jaunieji Talentai turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Utena players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Jaunieji Talentai's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international Egle Sulciute (190-85) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and international center Kristina Alminaite (205-90) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Utena players scored in double figures. Utena's coach Alfredas Vainauskas felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Laura Juskaite (186-97) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Ieva Savickaite (188-96) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Utena have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Jaunieji Talentai at the other side dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with H-Sirenos. Utena will play against Kibirkstis-VICI (#5) in Vilnius in the next round. Jaunieji Talentai's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilnius to the arena Kibirkstis-VICI.
