Regular Season Round 11: Saarlouis - Langen 86-82

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Saarlouis (2-9) defeated at home 8th ranked TV Langen (4-7) 86-82 on Saturday. Saarlouis dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to TV Langen's 42 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Karl Moore (203-87, college: Culver Stockton, agency: R.H.Consultancy) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) contributed with 24 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Saarlouis players scored in double figures. Swingman Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and power forward Martinis Woody (201-82, college: Benedict) added 24 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for TV Langen. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Saarlouis maintains eleventh place in Group South with 2-9 record, which they share with Speyer. Loser TV Langen keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Saarlouis will face higher ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
