Regular Season Round 6: Khimik-2 - Avantazh-Pol. 86-83

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Higher League took place in Yuzhny. This game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (4-5) to third ranked Khimik-2 (6-3) 86-83 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Avantazh-Politekhnik won fourth quarter 27-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Illya Sidorov (184-96) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists. Point guard Kyrylo Meshheryakov (184-95) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Khimik-2's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Rodion Borovskyi (195-92) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Anton Rochnyak (206-91) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Khimik-2 moved-up to second place, which they share with Zaporozhye. Avantazh-Politekhnik at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Khimik-2 is again looking forward to face Avantazh-Politekhnik (#5) in Kharkov in the next round. Avantazh-Politekhnik will have a break next round.
