No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked White Wings (4-7) beat on the road 12th ranked Speyer (2-9) 93-81 on Saturday. Power forward Josef Eichler (201-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Cardell McFarland (182-87, college: Ky Wesleyan) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists for the winners. American forward Marcus Ware (203-91, college: Niagara) answered with 20 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-92) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Speyer. Four White Wings and five Speyer players scored in double figures. White Wings moved-up to eighth place in Group South, which they share with Langen and Licher Baeren. Loser Speyer dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. White Wings will face higher ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Speyer will play against BG Karlsruhe (#3) and hope to win that game.
