Very expected game in Oldenburg where 12th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (4-8) was defeated by sixth ranked EWE Baskets (8-3) 98-84 on Sunday. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 30-15 charge of EWE Baskets, which allowed them to win the game. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. EWE Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best for the losing side was American point guard Lorenzo Williams (187-84, college: Rice) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and DR Congolese-American swingman Moses Ehambe (198-86, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. EWE Baskets moved-up to third place, which they share with Brose Bask. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. EWE Baskets will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#11) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play at home against TBB Trier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
