There was no surprise in Kyiv where 5th ranked Dnipro (6-6) was crushed by second ranked Budivelnyk (12-2) 83-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Budivelnyk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Oleksandr Kolchenko (194-88, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. The former international point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) helped adding 18 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was center Sergiy Zagreba (214-94) with 10 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Budivelnyk. Defending champion maintains second place with 12-2 record behind leader Khimik. Loser Dnipro dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with BC Kyiv. Budivelnyk will meet at home Mykolaiv (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dnipro will play against Halychyna and hope to secure a win.
