Regular Season Round 15: Khimik - Cherkasy 79-62

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Yuzhny. Leader Khimik faced 4th placed Cherkasy. Host Khimik (13-0) defeated guests from Cherkasy (7-6) 79-62. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Cherkasy was better in fourth quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. British power forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: Loyola Mary) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Cameron Rundles (185-88, college: Wofford) added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Cherkasy. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Cherkasy at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Ferro-ZNTU. Khimik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cherkasy will play on the road against BC Kyiv (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
