Regular Season Round 9: Aabyhoj - Falcon 62-54

Bottom-ranked Aabyhoj managed to get a second victory. This time they won against fifth-ranked Falcon 62-54. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Falcon won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aabyhoj held Falcon to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.8 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a good game for guard Sofie Preetzmann (180-95) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Nicole Ballestero (173-92, college: Vanguard) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Guard Elisabeth Hansen (176-93) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Sarah Mortensen (183-97) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Falcon. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aabyhoj (2-6) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Falcon. Falcon lost their third game in a row. Aabyhoj will play against league's second-placed Horsholm at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Falcon will play against the league's leader Lemvig (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
