There was a small surprise in Sakiai where tenth ranked Zanavykas (10-11) defeated 7th ranked Nafta-Uni. (10-11) 84-72 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-72. Zanavykas forced 20 Nafta-Uni. turnovers. Nafta-Uni. was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) who scored 17 points. Guard Paulius Malasauskas (188-91) chipped in 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Ignas Vaitkus (196-93) who recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nafta-Uni.'s coach Rytis Vaisvila tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Zanavykas. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nafta-Uni. and Zalgiris II. Nafta-Uni. lost their fourth game in a row. Zanavykas will face bottom-ranked JAZZ-Diremta (#14) in Kaunas in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
