Regular Season Round 10: Besiktas - Usak 86-67
Date: December 13, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 10th ranked Usak (4-6) was rolled over by seventh ranked Besiktas (7-3) 86-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Besiktas. Usak was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Puerto Rican-American swingman John Holland (195-88, college: Boston U.) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Besiktas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Loser Usak dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Besiktas will face Banvit BK (#8) in Balikesir in the next round where they are favorite. Usak will play at home against Turk Telekom and hope to win that game.
