Regular Season Round 12: Fraport SKY II - Schwelm 101-65

There was a minor upset in Frankfurt where 4th ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (7-5) were crushed by seventh ranked Fraport Skyliners II (6-6) 101-65 on Saturday. Fraport Skyliners II made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by SG Schwelmer Baskets' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Johannes Richter (206-93, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Canadian point guard Kyle Fossman (183-91, college: Alaska-Anch.) who added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Mathias Perl (188-89) with 14 points and forward Leo Padberg (200-91) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fraport Skyliners II maintains seventh position in Group South with 6-6 record. Loser SG Schwelmer Baskets keep the fourth place with five games lost. Fraport Skyliners II will face league's second-placed Wuerzburg on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against Dragons Rhoendorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
