Regular Season Round 22: JAZZ-Diremta - Zanavykas 81-68

Bottom-ranked JAZZ-Diremta managed to get a third victory. This time they won against seventh-ranked Zanavykas in Kaunas 81-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Zanavykas. The game was mostly controlled by JAZZ-Diremta. Zanavykas was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JAZZ-Diremta forced 21 Zanavykas turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The former international point guard Evaldas Dainys (180-82, college: Cent.Florida CC) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and American guard Malcolm Hawkins (196-91, college: Norfolk St.) supported him with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five JAZZ-Diremta players scored in double figures. JAZZ-Diremta's coach Rolandas Urkis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds by forward Marijus Uzupis (197-93) did not help to save the game for Zanavykas. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) added 12 points and 5 assists for lost side. JAZZ-Diremta maintains fourteenth position with 3-19 record. Zanavykas at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. JAZZ-Diremta's next round opponent will be higher ranked Nafta-Uni. (#6) in Klaipeda and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
