Regular Season Round 12: Saarlouis - Weissenhorn 64-101

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Saarlouis (2-10) were outplayed at home by fifth ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (8-5) 101-64 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Weissenhorn Youngstars especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Randal Holt (185-91, college: Kent St.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Jonathan Maier (210-92) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Weissenhorn Youngstars players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) with 24 points and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import Karl Moore (203-87, college: Culver Stockton, agency: R.H.Consultancy) scored 16 points. Saarlouis' coach Chris Cummings gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Weissenhorn Youngstars moved-up to third place in Group South. Newly promoted Saarlouis dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. Weissenhorn Youngstars will face league's leader Iserlohn at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saarlouis will play against TV Langen (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
