Regular Season Round 10: Turk Telekom - TED Kolejliler 80-89

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Ankara: TED Kolejliler (#13) and Turk Telekom (#9). Turk Telekom was defeated at home 80-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Turk Telekom. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-80. American-FYR Macedonian point guard Marques Green (165-82, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) chipped in 25 points during the contest. TED Kolejliler's coach Burak Goren used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TED Kolejliler (4-6) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Turk Telekom. TED Kolejliler will face Royal Hali (#10) in Gaziantep in the next round.
