Regular Season Round 8: Litija - Ajdovscina 70-69

Bottom-ranked Litija managed to get a second victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they edged ninth-ranked Ajdovscina 70-69. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Litija forced 23 Ajdovscina turnovers. The winners were led by guard Gasper Ovnik (188-82) who scored that evening 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Matevz Dobravec (192-93) supported him with 18 points. Litija's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds by forward Boris Cretnik (197-81) did not help to save the game for Ajdovscina. Naturalized Italian Taras Grbac (200-94) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Litija (2-6) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Ajdovscina. Ajdovscina lost fifth consecutive game. Litija will play against higher ranked Terme Olimia (#4) in Podcetrtek in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ajdovscina will play at home against the league's leader Lastovka (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
