Regular Season Round 11: Wolfenbuettel - Neuss 72-58

Rather expected game when 6th ranked TG Neuss (6-5) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (8-3) 72-58 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 43-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel dominated on the defensive end, holding TG Neuss to just 7 points in third quarter. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Raelyn Prince (191-88) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (184-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) produced 20 points and American guard Marquita Waller (180-88, college: VCU) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Opladen. TG Neuss lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will face Lichterfelde (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TG Neuss will play against Hannover and hope to win that game.
