Regular Season Round 11: Lichterfelde - Osnabruck 69-77

Date: December 13, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Lichterfelde (5-6) was defeated at home by first ranked Osnabruck (10-2) 77-69 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-69. Osnabruck forced 21 Lichterfelde turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Alysa Horn (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Britta Worms (188-88) chipped in 23 points. Osnabruck's coach Christian Kaiser used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lena Gohlisch (173-93) produced 24 points and Annalena Blume (180-96) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Osnabruck have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 10-2 record. Loser Lichterfelde keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Osnabruck will face league's second-placed SG BBZ Opladen in Leverkusen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lichterfelde will play at home against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#3) and hope to win that game.
