Regular Season Round 12: Rhein MB - BG 89 Avides 63-78
Date: December 14, 2014
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (7-5) beat 10th ranked Rhein Main Baskets (3-9) in Langen 78-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Rotenburg/Scheessel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) who scored that evening 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import power forward Kierra Mallard (190-90, college: Texas Tech) supported her with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by the former international power forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) did not help to save the game for Rhein Main Baskets. International point guard Nelli Dietrich (169-89) added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Rotenburg/Scheessel have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Halle and Donau-Ries. Loser Rhein Main Baskets keep the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Chemnitz. Rotenburg/Scheessel will meet at home BC Pharmaserv Marburg (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Rhein Main Baskets will play against the league's second-placed TV Saarlouis Royals and hope to secure a win.
