Regular Season Round 18: BC Kyiv - Ferro-ZNTU 84-81

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Superleague took place in Kyiv. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Ferro-ZNTU (7-8) to sixth ranked BC Kyiv (8-7) 84-81 on Wednesday evening. Ferro-ZNTU trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 26-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 81-84 at the end of the game. BC Kyiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Maksim Sandul (207-91) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Maks Adam Konate (200-91) who recorded 25 points and 9 rebounds and guard Alexander Rybalko (190-79) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Five BC Kyiv and four Ferro-ZNTU players scored in double figures. BC Kyiv moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cherkasy. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. BC Kyiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ferro-ZNTU will play at home against Dnipro (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
