Very important is a road loss of third ranked Suduva-Mantinga (14-9) against tenth ranked Palanga (11-12) on Friday night. Visiting Suduva-Mantinga was defeated by Palanga in Palanga 93-83. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Suduva-Mantinga. Suduva-Mantinga was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 55-36 second half run of Palanga. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Palanga players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Suduva-Mantinga was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for forward Povilas Sakinis (199-80) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 assists. Center Adomas Drungilas (204-90) accounted for 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Five Palanga players scored in double figures. Forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (185-88) added 9 points and 8 assists respectively for Suduva-Mantinga in the defeat. Suduva-Mantinga's coach Giedrius Zibenas let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Palanga have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Delikatesas and Zalgiris II. Suduva-Mantinga at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Petrochema. Palanga will play against higher ranked Nafta-Uni. (#6) in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suduva-Mantinga will play at home against Silute and hopes to get back on the winning track.
