Regular Season Round 18: BC Kyiv - Mykolaiv 106-81

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Mykolaiv (8-6) against sixth ranked BC Kyiv (8-7) on Friday night. Visiting Mykolaiv was crushed by BC Kyiv in Kyiv 106-81. The game was mostly controlled by BC Kyiv. Mykolaiv was better in fourth quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Kyiv players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. It was a good game for the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists. Power forward Maksim Sandul (207-91) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Pavlo Burenko (184-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) added 21 points in the effort for Mykolaiv. Five BC Kyiv and four Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Mykolaiv's coach Agris Galvanovskis gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. BC Kyiv moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cherkasy. Mykolaiv at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Dnipro. BC Kyiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mykolaiv will play at home against DniproAzot and hopes to get back on the winning track.
